Zoila Portuondo Guerra
(Havana, 1952) has been breeding dogs (Terriers and Havaneses) for more than 20 years under different affixes (Caramba, Baila Conmigo, etc.) and has worked hard for the preservation and promotion of the Havanese. She was the founder and first president of the Havanese Club of Cuba (Club Cubano del Bichón Habanero) and was also one of the founders of the Cuban Kennel Club (Federación Cinológica de Cuba), for which she carried out diverse functions for many years. After deeply studying the Havanese breed, she has written two books, several articles and a detailed breed standard. She is a University of Havana History of Art graduate and currently works as editor of books.
